Above is the World War II draft registration card for Daniel Aloysius Gilbert, a police captain married to Elizabeth Gilbert. I do not know if this can be included as a source due to it being from Ancestry, but exceptions have been made for non-BLPs. This death certificate lookup site shows a Daniel Aloysius Gilbert that died on the same day as Daniel A. Gilbert. Jon698 (talk) 02:19, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know nomination

  • ... that Daniel A. Gilbert, referred to as the world's richest cop, had a net worth of $360,000 in 1950, despite earning $9,000 per year?

  • - Article is new enough and was moved into the mainspace on 13 March via AfC. QPQ has been done and checks out. The article is the correct length and exceeds the minimum size requirement. No copyvios detected using earwig, with a "violation unlikely 10.7%" result. Many sources are offline but I am happy to assume good faith since the low result when comparing the available online sources to the prose. The editor has made more than good use of the Newspapers.com archive with an array of sources so it is very well sourced. Hook fact is interesting enough, I like the informal use of the word "cop" since the source material states the same. This source supports the hook fact via the line "Gilbert was known to friends and foes, said he was worth $360,000. At the time, he was making $9,000 a year as chief investigator for the Cook County state’s attorney." I am happy to assume good faith with the other book source because the Chicago Tribune source supports in the mention of "$360,000". All images included in the article are in the public domain, mostly via the pre-1930 waiver. This is good to go.Rain the 1 22:02, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
