Discussion

[edit]
Add any additional comments:
    • I changed it to a redirect, but some unregistered user went ahead and undid the redirect. Honestly, an article covering the entire Dino Crisis series is rather pointless. It makes sense with Resident Evil (series) since is a large enough series covering twelve different games (counting spinoffs) and spans movies and novels as well. On the other hand, there were only like two Dino Crisis sequels (each offering a completely different playing experience from the original) and one non-notable spinoff. Having a series article seems more like an overglorified redirect page than a legit stand-alone article. Jonny2x4 01:22, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I cooked together a template for all the games so that should kill any need for a disambiguation page at all. Regardless, I moved the old Dino Crisis disambiguation page to Dino Crisis (disambiguation) and changed the redirects to point here. (seeing as how given that there is no longer any need for the series page at all that one can be removed which would in turn allow the disambiguation page to get a speedy delete as it's usefulness would be completely nixed, and the move prevents someone from reverting it "just because" as that anon fellow didn't bother to give you any reason.

From there this page can just be moved into the Dino Crisis's page slot and there's no hassle at all anymore. And boy doing this at 3 AM is not good for one's self.--Kung Fu Man 07:57, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

errors in writing

[edit]

Pteranodon-Pterosaurs found for the first time in the outside area.. Wrong! They were outside in #1 they were outside of the facuility definetly. just because there were no stars in the sky some people trnslate that into it being...a ver very dark room.

Eh, what then is your point if the article says they're "found outside" and you say they're "found outside"? Parjay 21:01, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Characters?

[edit]

What's happening here? I'm guessing someone's trying to add tables to the character section, but the content is unnecessary for an encyclopedia article. We need a plot section more than a character chart. Having character profiles recording every fact about the character is against WP:NOT. Also see WP:VG/GL for guidelines on what a video article should contain. --Scottie_theNerd 17:49, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Endings?

[edit]

I could be remembering this wrong but wasn't there also a fourth ending that was slightly different than the main three but didn't count towards collecting all the endings? IRMacGuyver (talk) 02:26, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah you are right there is another ending and it should be added to the wiki page. i would do it but i cant be fucked

Soundtrack

[edit]

Is the section on the soundtrack really necessary in this article? If the soundtrack album is notable it can get it's own article, although I suspect that it is not. Perhaps there should be mention of the soundtrack in another part of the article but the tracklisting shouldn't be. AirRaidPatrol 84 (talk) 09:52, 29 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • of the Resident Evil games that preceded it - unnecessary.
    • Changed
  • However, unlike the horror "fun house" feeling of its predecessors - people who are not familiar with the Resident Evil franchise may not know what this is at all. You should save it for the development section.
    • OK, reworded this part
  • Critics drew heavy comparisons to Resident Evil, with some describing it as Resident Evil mixed with Jurassic Park, and "Resident Evil with dinosaurs." - "mixed with Jurassic Park" and "mixed with dinosaurs" are the same thing. You should mention only one of them in the lead, while have another mentioned in the reception section.
    • Fixed
  • push/climb objects, and perform a 180-degree turn - don't use slash. Climbing and pushing objects are not the same.
    • now "push and climb"
  • Save points are rooms which will prompt the player to save upon exiting them - A bit unclear. How they prompt players to save?
    • There are some rooms that when you go to exit through any door, text will appear asking the player if they'd like to save. I'm not sure how I should word this without getting too wordy.
  • Sometimes "DANGER" may flash on the screen, at which point the player should push all the controller buttons as rapidly as possible to survive. - When will "DANGER" scene occurs?
    • added "in perilous situations", it varies
  • Med Paks can be used to heal Regina's health. - "packs". You call this health packs in the second paragraph. For consistency you should either change this to health packs or change the one in the second paragraph to med packs.
    • I changed the earlier "health packs" to "medical supplies". The game calls the items "Med Paks" so that's why it's spelled this way.
  • although the number of Continues is limited to five - What happen afterwards?
    • Game Over. Reworded.
  • It can also be achieved by going after Kirk, but first finding the helicopter. - Shouldn't really teller readers how they can reach this ending
    • Removed
  • Mikami chose a real-time engine to challenge the theories of real-time backgrounds - What does this even mean?
    • That's all it said in the source. Since this isn't very clear, I removed it.
  • lions, tigers, and other carnivores that are not afraid of humans or weapons - "or weapons" is sort of unnecessary. I don't see any animals not frightened by weapons.
    • Removed
  • The dinosaur animations and cries also did not turn out as he originally envisioned them. - Does the source mention what he had expected?
    • No, what he means is no one knows truly how dinosaurs moved and sounded. What ended up in the game was not what he originally predicted. For better or for worse? Not sure. The info is in the same paragraph discussing how Mikami had to "scale down his ambitions" for the title, and had to "scale down" the dinosaur AI. But it doesn't necessarily say they scaled down the dinosaur animation/cries.
  • The number of dinosaurs in the North American version was increased from the Japanese version - Number of dinosaurs types or number of dinosaurs players encounter?
    • Species types remained the same, clarified.
  • develop Resident Evil Gaiden for the system instead, possibly using assets from the cancelled game Seems like it is only the writer's speculation instead of truth.
    • Removed "possibly using assets from the cancelled game"
  • Critics were quick to compare - don't need "were quick to"
    • Removed
  • GamePro found the game to have "an excellent mix of action and strategy," with dinosaur AI that "keeps the action fresh and exciting. - Can paraphrase this quote, the same goes for the Game Revolution paragraph.
    • Reworded those sections
  • On the Dreamcast, Resident Evil - Code: Veronica was viewed as the superior survival horror experience - You should associate Veronica to this game, or else this shouldn't be mentioned.
    • Associate in relation to Dino Crisis? Added "another Capcom survival horror game"
  • I suggest you to use the multi-platform template:video game reviews instead.
    • Done
  • The article is missing a legacy section. All the spin-offs and sequels should be mentioned there.
    • Added
