"He was called an atheist, a negative comment in 1838."
It's still used in a disparaging sense today by many people. Atheists are the most distrusted minority in the US. Therefore this sentence needs to be phrased a bit more clearly. 70.144.30.122 (talk) 19:25, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
