Ancestry
[edit]His name (Masry) sounds like the Arabic word for "Egyptian." Can anyone confirm? 69.221.94.18 01:51, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
- I had exactly the same thought when I saw the movie. I noticed (in the NYT obit) that his parents had a silk importing business in New Jersey in the earlier part of the twentieth century. I think something like half the Egyptians in the US live in New Jersey...I bet they were Egyptians, but I can't seem to find any confirmation anywhere. jackbrown
Query party affiliation
[edit][2] suggests a republican affiliation, but [3] lists many Democrat donations. MikeHobday (talk) 08:00, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Korean War service
[edit]Although Masry served in the Army during the Korean War era, there are no reliable sources found as of yet state that he was in a war zone during the war. More specifically, the sources do not establish defining role in the Korean War. Accordingly, "Category:United States army personnel of the Korean War" was removed until a defining role is established. Semper Fi! FieldMarine (talk) 09:37, 13 April 2022 (UTC)
