Templates

Regarding the use of templates on this page, which is the basis of the "revert war". A compromise was suggested (by yours truly) to keep both the {{Irish train operators}} template and the {{Current UK TOCs}} template on the page. This seemed to be accepted, given the relatively peaceful few days, until a single Wikipedia member decided to renew his hostility. Given that the majority of people have accepted the compromise, surely that should be what is displayed on the page, and not the seeming prejudices of one individual. Hammersfan 10/05/06, 14.15 BST

Wouldn't it make more sense to remove NI completely from the British TOCs template? There's zero overlap and it would match how the railways are administered --Dtcdthingy 15:24, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would agree with this - railways are quite separate between Great Britain and Ireland (the little matter of the Irish Sea, and a difference in standard gauge, as well as their mostly being constructed before partition).

Having looked at the British TOCs template, I think it's probably no harm to include it on this page. It does have an appropriate footnote that NIR and Enterprise run on the Irish Railway Network. zoney talk 23:41, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced statements

Virtually none of the statements of fact in the article are supported by references or citations. I have flagged a few of the more significant ones. The links to the NIR and IE Enterprise Web pages provide only a small amount of general information and advertising, and almost nothing about the history of the service, including interruptions during the Troubles. 4.243.152.8 08:34, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While the statements are unsourced, some of these are common knowledge. The speed limit on much of the Enterprise line is 70mph - such as around Lisburn - so it's not possible to reach 90mph on the entire route. On the other hand, disruption is still common, HEP-related loco failures and carriage parking brake faults regularly take the DeDietrich stock out of service, requiring a swap with 071s+Mk2s or 29000/C3K railcars.       • I see that 82.7.122.229 is up to his old tricks of adding unsupported statements, so have attached a "citation needed". The previous claim, 23 February 2007, that "I have used this train twice a week, every week, for twenty one years to commute to Dublin" is hardly relevant as the current service has been in operation for only 10 years. Even using his example gives an average speed of approx 49 mph as the distance is actually 113.5 miles, not 110 miles. I propose to revert his edit in a week's time if no citation provided.       • Somebody is sure getting hot under the collar re Enterprise speeds. I've removed anything unsupported & corrected the journey times as quoted in NIR's timetable. The "complaint" that the train never arrives in Dublin before 09:00 is in fact quite correct, as it isn't due to arrive until 09:05, according to the timetable.         • While not wishing to discourage genuine corrections someone hates all rail projects it seems; can't find and other western urban transport systems which have to carry such extensive "criticism" sections as the Luas and DART. however fast the enterprise it is SLOW... it does nothing but constanly speed up and brake. Its also the roughest train i have ever been on! Misleading route map

I noticed the route map on this article includes lots of stations not served by the Enterprise. It seems to be the full map of the Dublin to Belfast line as opposed to one for this service, which normally has just 4 intermediate stops.
