How to improve this article

[edit]

A few concerns with this article include:

  • A toxic dump in a marginalized community, or a timber or mining operation in a resource-rich Indigenous community, is not proof of racism. This article, Race, Place and Poison in Nova Scotia, states that "cheap land happens to be where black and indigenous communities live".
  • The racism in Africville went beyond just environmental issues.
  • Two of the worst environmental disasters in Nova Scotia--Montague Gold Mine near Dartmouth, and the Sydney Tar Ponds--appear to have little connection to racism.

The input of others would be welcome. Magnolia677 (talk) 14:26, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
