Can anyone change the "is"?
[edit]The company went bankrupt, so that means it was defunct, it is, really, 2600:1005:B081:A930:F5D9:D746:CB10:1EED (talk) 10:45, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

FTT Whitepaper link
[edit]The current FTT whitepaper link in the infobox for FTX Token is going to a private google docs link. Does anyone have this in a more accessible place, ideally archive.org or similar? --Molochmeditates (talk) 19:38, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
Alt names and MOS:ACRO
[edit]User:Ptrnext thanks for reverting my bad edit [1]. However, the two issues to be considered, and fixed are:
- defining per MOS:ACRO
- deciding on "Futures Exchange" either as a proper name in which case it shouldn't be linked and optionally should be bolded as an alternate name (it's not an incoming redir, so likely not bolded, maybe italics) but if not a proper name we should link it but per MOS:ACRO shouldn't be title case. Proposal:
FTX Trading Ltd. (using the trademark FTX;[2] futures exchange)
is
This is somewhat similar to IBM. Widefox; talk 21:48, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Widefox: while I don't have a strong opinion, I lean towards not using "trademark" since FTX is/was also the trade name. "Futures Exchange" as a proper name without linking seems better to me. How about
FTX Trading Ltd., commonly known as FTX (Futures Exchange), is...
? Any variations of the usage in ASML Holding, TSMC, CBS, or KFC could also be considered. Ptrnext (talk) 05:18, 15 January 2025 (UTC)- Yup none of the examples we have above are perfect, but one learning from them is in KFC - the "commonly" denotes factually incorrect usage, whereas here "commonly" is used for the trade name. It's both the common name and the trade name. Digging deeper on IBM, it's cycled through options available to us...i.e. "trade name", simple acro definition etc....
- So, there are sources for the proper name expansion but I've not looked into the history too much, this is by far the simplest and is actually correct...
FTX Trading Ltd., trading as FTX (Futures Exchange), is...

- This works, but shouldn't we swap
trading as

since the company is no longer in business? Ptrnext (talk) 17:45, 16 January 2025 (UTC)- May want to find a good example for the tense. Mixing past tense and "is" doesn't read for me. I've done the edit, feel free to fix any tense, as my part is done. Widefox; talk 22:40, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- Nevermind, turns out they're still in business. Ptrnext (talk) 07:44, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
