What about the book?
[edit]The Hell? There is nothing about the book itself on this page! This page should be retitled Steve Jackson Games vs. The United States Secret Service Case.
- Ditto — The lawsuit crap, and SS raids need to be mentioned, but most of the content moved to a more appropriate page... Zotel - the Stub Maker 23:55, 19 September 2005 (UTC)
- I'll add some info when I get around to it. TowerDragon 10:26, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
- I just did it, the new page is SJ Games vs. The Secret Service it needs work as it just contains a verbatim hack of the old text. This article is now focused more on the book itselfBrehaut 20:27, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
Raid possibly not part of Sundevil
[edit]I added a "disputed" notice to the Sundevil portion of the article, as the EFF and SJG claim otherwise. From http://www.eff.org/legal/cases/SJG/?f=media_errors.sjg.txt :
- 5. This was part of Operation Sun Devil.
- No it wasn't. Sun Devil was a totally separate project, aimed at credit card fraud. Because it had a neat name, it got a lot of headlines. Since computers were involved, some reporters got the two confused. The Secret Service helped the confusion along by refusing to comment on what was, or wasn't part of Sun Devil. Sun Devil was not a "hacker" investigation. So says Gail Thackeray, who was its spearhead.

- I suggest to change the title of that section to SJGames vs. The Secret Service, and the text to something like: "... was raided by the U.S. Secret Service in 1990. This raid is often attributed to Operation Sundevil, a nation-wide crackdown on 'illegal computer hacking activities', although SJG and the EFF claim otherwise." + References to both organisations' texts. Any objections? TowerDragon 10:26, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
- As there don’t seem to be any objections, I’ll edit the main page to state both points of view as suggested above. TowerDragon 01:33, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
