[edit]Wikipedia is, an encyclopedia, supposedly. I would like to add relevant information to this site, such as links to aviation services that serve the city and regioin. It is a benefit to pilots and airplane owner/operators, to get information that will help them plan and prepare for a flight. If they are flying cross country, and they need to know where the closest maintenance facility is or avionics shop is, this site would prove a good resource. I have not had time to add more information than just links and have had them removed each time being marked spam. I understand that one may interpret the guidelines as me trying to spam, however I am not and I feel that since they are legitimate links that I should at least have been asked at first my intentions of posting the links before they were blatantly deleted without no cause or reason except a simple spam comment.
I would like to submit the relevant and beneficial data to support my links as needed, but I only have so much time in the week to do so, however I feel a good start would at least to be able to have the links still present. I am am not just supplying one link, I have supplied up to 5 links of different relevance, pilot training, fueling/maintenance, avionics, therefore I feel that it would show a bit of my intentions that I was not biased in my choice of posting/editing the page. If you feel this is spam, then I feel you are not a pilot. A pilot flying cross country may need to find relevant information to still comply with FAA regulations that are much more stringent than any individual on here driving their car, even if they have annual or bi-annual inspections to get their renewal on their tags. FAA has much tighter restrictions on what a pilot/owner can do, if they need help finding information to get a repair done on where they can go, than I feel that it will be beneficial to be present.
KIXD - New Century Airpark and K34 - Gardner Municipal Airport both serve Gardner, KS. Some flight restrictions only allow a flight ferry of 10 hours, which depending on your aircraft really limits your choices if you are a small private pilot flying compared to a regional or small private jet. I argue that it would be best to provide this information that is vital to General Aviation Aviators/Owners. Especially since aviation isn't exactly the cheapest transportation, every benefit to providing comprehensive data to comply with a "encyclopedia" theme should be provided. I am using this discussion page to ask for further permission to provide this pertinent data. Thanks in advance.

- I'm not a pilot, but that's not the point: Wikipedia isn't a directory or a repository of links. An article may list a directory of gas stations in a community, which might be quite useful, but because this isn't a business directory the list is not permitted. It's the same with this. User:ABarlett Hello I recently added a few paragraphs of relevant information to the Gardner, Kansas page and would like to know why it got deleted by Nyttend. I am doing this project for an english class and would like to know what errors you thought were made and what I should do to correct them. Thanks.
- Except for your contributions to the History section (which shouldn't have been removed, and therefore I've restored them in a modified format), I don't know whether what you wrote is erroneous or not. You added large segments of text that weren't cited by any sources — reliable or not — and you removed some necessary parts of the text, including the interwiki links at the very bottom of the page. If you want to restore bits such as the government officials, please do so with reliable sources. Nyttend (talk) 02:55, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
User:ABarlett I will repost my information with the proper citations, I did not remove any information intentionally from the page including interwiki links. All information on the page I added to the page should not be considered erroneous. After review several other city pages, including the adjacent cities I have listed I have concluded that my information is not unnecessary or unimportant in any way. The government information can be found on the city of Gardner website and I will cite it also.
The external links I propose should include Gardner Edge as a local news source as well. I also propose including a link to my weather page for local weather data, http://gardnerwx.heifipro.com/ which I provide the station data and administer as a local resident. Trail split
[edit]The text is wrong. The Oregon and California Trails were coincident until much further west when the California went south. See Kansas portion of the Oregon/California Trails. After being in Kansas a little while, the Trails went up into Nebraska. After a little pause, I will change the text, as necessary. jmswtlk (talk) 22:33, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
