Change title

[edit]

I think changing the title to "GISB child abuse scandal" would bring more exposure to this article since locals often colloquially refer to this whole scandal as "GISB." Synonyms can be added in the lead. 175.140.58.57 (talk) 20:01, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I like this idea. DrunkenJoe (talk) 05:01, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also agree with the article renaming since the "GISB" is widely used in the media to refer the company and the scandal instead of "Global Ikhwan", which is the company's legal name.–Fandi89 (talk) 06:19, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. GISB is the notable in this case, not Global Ikhwan. Ong Kai Jin (talk) 15:44, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The page is indexed to the top when you search up GISB, renaming the title would give little to no difference in SEO. N niyaz (talk) 07:38, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
GISB as an abbreviation is used globally, differentiating it with the company's other widely known name is better. N niyaz (talk) 07:39, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. There is Gerak Indera Sdn Bhd, Genap Indah Sdn Bhd and GSiB Sdn Bhd. Ong Kai Jin (talk) 14:55, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This appears to be an ongoing investigation with arrests, dramatic accusations, claims of defamation, and counter-lawsuits, but nowhere close to legal resolution or clarity. Even setting aside the sockpuppetry and edit-warring in the recent article history, I don't think this is yet stable enough to be a Good Article (WP:GACR #5). The article appears to repeat every update to the story and minor related incident in the news rather than giving a well-organized broad overview; this could be problematic with respect to GACR #3b. I'm also skeptical whether (until the legal situation stabilizes) listing the names of some of the accused perpetrators in this article (for instance in the "Court proceedings" section) passes the prohibition against repeating defamatory claims against non-public figures in WP:NPF, part of one of our core policies. So to me this looks like a quickfail per WP:QF #1 and #4. —David Eppstein (talk) 06:17, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough, the investigation is not yet concluded. I'll try to remove all the accused names until they are proven guilty. N niyaz (talk) 08:25, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
