It cites traditional Sikh and Muslim sources as agreeing on the account that Gobind was killed by sons of a Pathan horse dealer in revenge for Gobind killing their father over a purchasing disagreement.

Um Y'all serious Rn or smth?

[edit]

Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the first Sikh guru, not the 10th, and he helped create the religion but wasn't part of it yet. I barely even read anything and still realised that it was wrong, as a part of the punjabi community i would like to change the lies and pour in the truth, thank you. 2001:56A:F4C4:600:D4:DACC:EF5:2C80 (talk) 20:37, 7 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Guru Gobind Singh's Wives

[edit]

Gobind Singh was married only once and had all four sons from his wife, Mata Sundari Ji. Sundri ji had a nickname before marriage and then her mother-in-law gave her name "Sundri" after marriage lovingly. This has caused confusion among writers of that period. Then Mata Sahib Kaur was given title "Mother of Khalsa" by Guruji later on. She was not married to Guruji. She wanted to serve his cause and was included in same circle. 198.208.47.93 (talk) 14:57, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Guru sahib's wife

[edit]

Guru sahib has one wife : Mata sundari ji , who was earlier known as mata ajeet (jeeto) ji. Mata sahib Kaur is the mother of khalsa and not guru sahib's wife. Please 2604:3D09:6C82:7A00:F093:FB8:E549:EBAE (talk) 02:30, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request the change from "Gobind Das" to "Gobind Rai". As you can check various sources or books for reference regarding the same; when he was born his name was "Gobind Rai". So, at various instances on the wiki page, where ever "Gobind Das" is mentioned, it should be replaced with "Gobind Rai".

[1] [2] (This is a reference from the book "Founder of Khalsa" by Amardeep S. Dahiya, where you can find young guru gobind singh referred to as "Gobind Rai" at various accounts; like Ch 1(The Legacy) Pg. 40,41 ) [3] Gurjot Singh Shergill (talk) 06:58, 3 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

See note A saying that his birth name being Gobind Rai is apocryphical. (3OpenEyes' communication receptacle) | (PS: Have a good day) (acer was here) 08:17, 4 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Guru Gobind Singh did not marry Mata sahib kaur, she is only known as the mother of the Khalsa- spiritually. Also Mata Jito ji/ Ajeet Kaur is the same person as Mata Sundar Kaur, because her mother in law thought she was so beautiful she named her Sundar, so overall Guru Gobind Singh ji only had one wife. 193.237.253.184 (talk) 23:07, 5 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
