Source material on halo hats
[edit]This article has proved problematic as my research didn't bear out my initial understanding that a halo was a semicircle above the head. Reference material I've found (notably Chico) seems to give a far looser definition. Also, the halo or 'aureole' shaped hat seems to be quite loosely used in contemporaneous descriptions – possibly a certain amount of creative licence was used as it was a fashionable shape in the 1930s and '40s.
