Well that was pointless

[edit]

While this draft has been sitting here waiting for review, someone has gone and made a (frankly) inferior article on the same topic, which is live, completely unreviewed. What a joke of a system. Special thanks to the two people who submitted this draft I was working on, without so much as asking, which is what got it stuck in that bureaucratic limbo. -Jason A. @JasonAQuest I agree with your sentiment. We should still create this article. The 'Helium Network' is associated but different from HNT currency. We should still get the page approved and live. MarsTrombone (talk) 15:09, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I just went through that article. Most of it was completely uncited marketing guff; when I cut it down to RSes, it was two or three sentences. Merging here - David Gerard (talk) 20:09, 25 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Clarifying network structure (May 2025)

[edit]

I’ve updated the article introduction and cleaned up parts of the History and Litigation sections to reflect major developments between 2022 and 2025. The article previously blended together very different wireless technologies (LoRaWAN, CBRS, and Wi-Fi) under the same label, without clearly explaining the pivot from CBRS to Wi-Fi in 2024 or the structure of Helium Mobile. The new lead section separates IoT and Helium Mobile into two distinct wireless networks and notes that both rely on HNT and decentralized deployment.

I also clarified that while Helium is described as decentralized, Nova Labs remains central to operations—this seems important for neutrality, given the company’s leadership role.

More updates (e.g., CBRS efforts, HIPs, IOT and MOBILE tokens, the return to HNT-based rewards, and analysis of the SEC outcome) can be added later once better secondary sources are integrated. Bluelion25 (talk) 20:13, 9 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
