There was a story about Brodie, at the time of the AFL-NFL merger, being awarded a $1,000,000 settlement in lieu of litigation on the basis of being victim of an antitrust violation. This supposedly made him at the time,and for several years afterward the highest-paid North American athlete ever to that point. Does someone perhaps have evidence of this?
