Personalities list
[edit]The personalities list is quite long for somebody not familiar with the station or any of the names. Would somebody in the St. Joseph area please group these by job (anchors, reporters, weather, sports, etc.)? Thanks. —Voidxor (talk) 05:06, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material
[edit]Hello, Please do not add unreferenced or improperly referenced names as entries to the list of former employees in the article. A pre-existing article in Wikipedia for the person may demonstrate notability for inclusion. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:
- WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
- As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
- WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
- Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.
If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 00:10, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Introduction
[edit]Hi there Sammi Brie, I'm MediaKyle and I'll be reviewing this article today. I'll be using GAs WFTV and KTIV for comparison. I'm new to reviewing articles, so if you have any feedback or suggestions about how I conduct my review I'd love to hear it. If you're satisfied with the quality of my review after this and you'd like me to review the rest of your television station articles, let me know, and we can pick away at it over the coming days. MediaKyle (talk) 12:51, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Prose
[edit]- I find the last sentence in the lead to be a bit confusing. It says above that
"KQTV went on the air as KFEQ-TV, the sister station to KFEQ radio"
, which introduces some ambiguity when mentioning the separation. I'd recommend splitting the last sentence into two, with the first providing more context on the stations separating and KQTV changing its call sign, and the second discussing ownership. You might have a better idea to solve this too, that's just what I came up with. - Tower work set back completion of the station because structural steel components were delayed; might read better as
Erecting / Construction of / Work on / the tower postponed completion of the station because structural steel components were delayed;
- After a 1960 attempt to sell the KFEQ stations and KLIK in Jefferson City to music man Connie B. Gay fell through, Calling him a "music man" seems a little awkward to me, but maybe there's a precedent for that?
- for $115 million in a purchase that closed in January 2017. The sale was completed on January 17, 2017. Repetition
- Prose is well-written and clear throughout the article.
Referencing & Verification

Summary
[edit]Great work. I think this article just needs a couple small adjustments to the prose as noted, and maybe a quick comb through to make sure any deadlinks are properly archived or replaced. Thank you for your contributions. MediaKyle (talk) 13:46, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- @MediaKyle: Thanks for taking a look. A shadow library mirrors [14] and [15] if you wanted to take a look at those sources. As a general comment, I have 150+ pages—mostly TV stations—that someday need reviewing, but for GA backlog reasons I only have as many as 20 up at a time. The other two articles open for reviewing right now (WOI-DT and WPGH-TV) are substantially larger, to the point of possibly being Featured Article candidates down the road, but I am likely to send up another "slate" of articles anyway, and I have articles in virtually every part of the US and several in Canada. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 16:09, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- I knew you were a prolific writer, but that's an impressive amount of articles. Good for you.
- Your TV/radio articles have actually inspired me to write a similar one about a radio station I listen to here in Nova Scotia. Maybe when I get around to that I'll get the expert to take a look :-) MediaKyle (talk) 16:46, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- I realize @MediaKyle I didn't make it clear that I'd made copy changes to address your other issues. Sammi Brie (she/her · t · c) 02:19, 28 February 2025 (UTC)
- I see that now, thanks. I thought people typically responded to the feedback in separate bullet points, so I guess I could have been more clear on that point. I'll go over the article again shortly, and we should be just about good to pass it I'd say. MediaKyle (talk) 11:23, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

Just did a final go-over of the article. All issues have been resolved, not seeing anything else. Sorry for the delay. Congratulations on another green X to add to your list of accolades! MediaKyle (talk) 19:27, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
