Two similar pictures
[edit]The two pictures on the page seem to be very similar. I propose that the smaller, newer one be removed. Also the caption on this picture says "Notice the brown water acid pond." There's no mention of a brown acid water pond in the article, and no source. It doesn't even appear brown to me in the photo. 129.46.157.114 18:38, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Bias
[edit]The "and still it" in the last sentence seems vague and somewhat biased. No reference is cited.
The pit is actually very popular with tourists. Many travel to Bisbee to see it. This seems biased. No citation of any reference to back this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Popeye21 (talk • contribs) 18:49, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- I live near the pit and I'm very proud. I don't know who or why someone said it was an eyesore. Yes, the huge piles of dirt that came out of it that are scattered throughout the area are rather unattractive, but I find the pit itself is something people should be proud of.
- I also find it quite sad that someone should vandalize this page with a video game character. Can someone please put the original photo back or else get rid of the entire thing?--71.38.60.133 (talk) 21:56, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
Lavendar vs. Lavender
[edit]It is unfortunate that someone changed the name of this article before discussing it first. The correct spelling of any geographic feature is determined by current usage, not what it once was, or what someone believes it should be. The best authority on names of places in the US is the US Board of Geographic Names, and according to the Board of Geographic Names, the correct spelling of the feature is Lavender. - I believe I have cleaned up the problem. --Kukini hablame aqui 17:10, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
