[edit]The United Kingdom's full name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and I believe that this name is consistent with the Library of Congress classification for the Law of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
- I was just looking at this and considering whether it is time for me to expand the "KD" subclass. The title appears here exactly as it does at the LoC's own page which is linked from our Library of Congress classification (Oops I should correct that title to a "C") main page. Doing things this way allows room for the Republic of Ireland. Eclecticology
This is very curious: The expanded version does not seem to have a classification for the Law of the United Kingdom (of Great Britain and Northern Ireland). Rather, it divides up the various jurisdictions of the United Kingdom under the KD subclass, then includes the (Republic of) Ireland under the same subclass. I'd be curious to know how items which cover the Law of the United Kingdom are actually indexed in the catalog.--NetEsq
