Blocked Porn Websites

As far as I know, three porn sites were blocked in Russia: Pornhub, Youporn, and Brazzers. There may be more.

A lot more sites now blocked

I suggest adding a section to cover which sites are blocked surrounding the current invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

This would be a valuable resource to those trying to get good information to Russia right now. For example I understand that Facebook, YouTube, BBC are now blocked so there is no point trying to share links to those with ordinary (non vpn) Russians. Dave t uk (talk) 08:13, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Not able to replicate these blocks?

Using a friend with a Russian VPN, and the website: https://www.comparitech.com/privacy-security-tools/blockedinrussia/

I have not been able to replicate *any* of these reported blocks from inside Russia. I fear the information in this article is inaccurate now. Spudst3r (talk) 03:02, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

I checked today and none of the pages are blocked. I'll note that Russian IP-adresses are blocked from editing this page though, which seems both ironical and non-ideal :) Iskube (talk) 19:05, 3 May 2023 (UTC)

Another way to get a Russian IP is TOR with ExitNodes {ru} added to your torrc.conf file. However for the past year, I’ve been unable to obtain a Russian IP. The recent edit with the government block checker may be a front to deny allegations. WorkingOnTheRailroad (talk) 22:05, 8 May 2023 (UTC)

@WorkingOnTheRailroad: Hey, I'm still unable to replicate any blocks at all, even with the tools you link to. If you want to check for yourself if anything is blocked from inside Russia I suggest a VPN service. And yes, I've done this. Could you please elaborate your answer and mention specifically what pages are reported as blocked by which 3rd party tools? I don't think accusing other users of being intelligence agents is allowed on wikipedia, so let's not do that? ;) Iskube (talk) 08:45, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

They’re cited. I don’t think I accused you of being an intelligence agent, and there’s no technical way to prove blockings on Wikipedia. This is an aggregation of news articles mentioning current and past blocks. WorkingOnTheRailroad (talk) 15:12, 20 July 2023 (UTC)
