Attempting to expand this article
[edit]I am going to expand this article greatly once I have the information to expand it. This large igneous province is one of the largest on Earth and so are its features, including the Muskox intrusion, which is one of the largest and most studied layered intrusions on Earth, as well as one of the most valuable from an economic perspective. The Mackenzie dike swarm is the largest dike swarm known on Earth that represents a large igneous province by itself, and the Coppermine River basalts also represents a large igneous province in its own rights. The hotspot that created the Mackenzie Large Igneous Province is also considered to have been more energetic than the Yellowstone hotspot. As a result, the Mackenzie Large Igneous Province is a true extensive magmatic feature, and it diserves to have more information than its current form..... BT (talk) 11:53, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
- I finally had the time to post information for the proposed expansion. Further expansion will continue..... BT (talk) 23:22, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
