Needs cleanup
[edit]This seems like it could be made into a pretty interesting article, but it needs a lot of work. ZacharyS 04:10, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- More like a lot of translation....
Collections of moving pictures
[edit]I removed the 2 links to what were originally described as "collections of moving pictures". These links were entirely in Japanese, so I'm not sure they really belong here. For future reference:

Cleanup
[edit]Did some cleanup, but its still a mess. Especially the images and the overuse of italics. I removed the passage about additional accusations of voyeurism, because it rather reeks of tabloidism, and I couldn't rewrite it without a liberal dose of Weasel Words. Also, the source is in Chinese. 4.248.48.254 12:27, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Discrepancies
[edit]Some of the information present in the English version of the article does not appear in the Japanese version. Namely, the police station and victim accounts of his bath-house peeping incident and the posts on the Time website. The former have some obscure points (who ran after him forcing him to run 300m from the bath-house and who caught him? Is it the same person?) and the latter have grammar issues. Where was this information gotten from?
And one more thing, is his "Way of the Whales" V-Cinema production a one-shot movie or is it a series? (Gastaman 17:30, 29 April 2006 (UTC))
My changes
[edit]I made some much needed edits to the article which were soon to be reverted by user hatto, twice. Here's what I removed and reasons for it - I hope for you, hatto, to give arguments why you reverted these edits.
1) Expand this article-template. The article is already larger than the one on Japanese Wikipedia, and he's only a second rate celebrity. The reason you give for his importance is that he was the "preliminary winner" of TIME's man of the year 2001, but that was created by a simple internet script and wasn't more than a small computer hack performed by 2channeru users.
2) The fact that he actually won (or 3rd place or whatever) another of TIME's internet polls (which I suspect wasn't presented in the actual paper but only carried out on the net) could be mentioned but it doesn't demand an image to show it. Also, the comments are completely superfluous and have nothing do to in an encylopedic article.
3) The trivia was far to trivial, which might sound like an oxymoron, but it isn't. It refers to a girl he says he once loved, and ONE lecture he once held at Waseda (a comment probably first added to Japanese wikipedia by somebody attending the lecture, feeling important, than translated into English). If that's gonna be the standard, we could just as well put in any unsourced claims saying "2nd March, Tashior ate spaghetti".
4) The fan-site links are not necessary, see Wikipedia:EL for Wikipedia's guidelines on External linking.
Over all, there are many wikipedia guidelines I think you desperately need to familiarize yourself with if you want to keep on editing on English Wikipedia. Mackan 17:04, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
