[edit]I've tried to smooth out some of the loaded terms in this article -- calling the airport an "airfield," for example.
Also, while Cubans were involved in constructing the airport, and they did have weapons, I have seen no evidence that there were regular units of the Cuban military defending the airport (or anywhere on the island). I have glossed this over by using 'cuban forces' in place of 'cuban military forces.'
Also I think the Coard/Austin crowd were not just "pro-" Communists, I think they were doctrinaire Communists. But I will leave that edit to someone more familiar with their politics. Roregan (talk) 18:54, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
weasel words
[edit]weasel words like "hard-line" should be avoided. Hard to document, and if stated _should_ be documented prior to usage.
I question the accuracy of the sentence "Despite resistance from Grenadian armed forces (PRA - People's Revolutionary Army) and armed Cuban construction workers, the Rangers secured all of their objectives on the airfield quickly". There is no evidence that I am aware of any significant resistence. However the capture of the airfield was not quick or easy. The initial landing by Delta Force was a fiasco - they were pinned down by the one machine gun that was apparently available to defend the airport. It was not until some hours later that Rangers arrived to rescue them.203.184.41.226 (talk) 07:07, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
