There seems to be a major error in this article

There seems to be confusion between Mitega airport http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=Mitiga+Airport,+Libya&sll=32.693566,13.186684&sspn=0.066598,0.131836&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FfjV7wEd-snKAA&split=0&hq=&hnear=Mitiga+Airport,+Libya&z=16

and the former wheelus airforce base on the coast http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=Tarabulus+Airport,+%E1%B9%ACar%C4%81bulus,+Libya&sll=32.895876,13.280411&sspn=0.033224,0.065918&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FZHq9QEdKZPKAA&split=0&hq=&hnear=Tarabulus+Airport,+%E1%B9%ACar%C4%81bulus,+Libya&z=13

the co ordinates are all wrong

I think they are the same airport, but I have corrected the co-ordinates. - Crosbiesmith (talk) 17:59, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This article mentions 4 runways: 03/21 & 11/29. Looking at Google it seems to be 10/28 rather than 11/29. And 03/21 does not seem to be an active runways at all, more like a taxiway or parking. Anyone can confirm? Gentleman wiki (talk) 20:14, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking at a very recent Google Earth photo and there's only one runway: 10/28. Strangely I do see a barely visible "29" next to the "28", as if it has been scratched off. I don't see an "11" next to the "10" at the other end. 03/21 seems to be decommissioned. Also this reference only lists 10/28. And this reference notes the following: "RWY NOW AT MTG airport RWY 10-28". Gentleman wiki (talk) 15:33, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Can anyone supply the Arabic name and transliteration? Skinsmoke (talk) 19:01, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

this might help http://www.libyaherald.com/2013/09/04/temporary-move-of-all-flights-from-tripoli-to-mitiga-now-appears-unlikely/#axzz2qnrW7zX9 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sammo360 (talkcontribs) 01:32, 19 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Arabic: مطار معيتيقة الدولي
English: Maitiga International Airport

However, due to an incorrect translation, Some English speakers decided to translate it as Mitiga, as you can see here, here and here.
As such, the current name is the "correct" name.
