Unofficial “new” mascot

[edit]

Recently, the Canadiens introduced an unofficial second mascot named METAL! His appearances will be limited to the team’s “Reverse Retro” matches during the 2022-23 season. My question to the group: does he merit his own article? Debate here… 142.105.141.64 (talk) 16:37, 13 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We typically use Wikipedia Notability standards (see here WP:GNG) to determine whether or not a topic qualifies to be a standalone article. Doing an (admittingly cursory) search on METAL!, I don't believe he would qualify for a standalone article, given that there as there is no significant and reliable secondary sources on the topic.
That said, that doesn't stop anyone from expanding the existing mascot section in this existing article to include info about METAL!. Leventio (talk) 18:03, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've added content in this article about the new mascot. Leventio (talk) 18:10, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New points record

[edit]

The article refers to the Habs' points record of 132 points as still standing. It has since been broken by the 2022-23 Boston Bruins, who went 65-12-5 for 135 points. 2603:8000:A300:DD00:D1BB:746E:AA58:7453 (talk) 08:39, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. MadGuy7023 (talk) 21:20, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Remove the picture of PK Subban..He doesn't play for the Montreal Canadiens. Please and thank you 2001:4958:304F:D301:8483:3A07:A256:CAEE (talk) 01:53, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: I don't see the picture you're referring to. Unless it's one of the old pictures, which wouldn't make too much sense to remove, since the caption makes that clear. ⸺(Random)staplers 20:49, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi,

I can see that there are a few sections which would benefit from update/tweaking.

Firstly, under the Hall of Fame section, Shea Weber should replace Pierre Turgeon where it reads "was the most recently inducted," with the year updated to "2024". Recipients of the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award should also read a total of "seven broadcasters" with the additions of both Richard Garneau (1999) and Pierre Houde (2024) per List of Montreal Canadiens award winners page.

Next, under First-round draft picks, the word "overall" should be included next to 5th for Ivan Demidov as this is the case for preceding list entries.

Thanks. 156.34.8.38 (talk) 17:53, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I notice that the names of two current players of the Habs are possibly misspelled.

Dobeš and Slafkovský have accents on the S and Y respectively.

It's their name ! In my opinion it should be respected.

It is spelled with the accents on their Wikipedia page and also on their game jerseys.

Fixed. This is transcluded from Template:Montreal Canadiens roster, so you may have to purge the page before you see the new version. Thanks for the suggestion. --Diannaa (talk) 04:04, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Howdy @Diannaa:, I've undone your changes. Per WP:NCIH we don't show diacritics in the names of North American-based non-player articles. GoodDay (talk) 20:01, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK. thanks for the info. Diannaa (talk) 20:33, 23 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
