Passage unclear

[edit]

It says "As this is the only route on Long Island ... to have a terminus at 25A, this clearly suggests that it was at one time, wanted to be extended southward." It isn't clear to me. Maybe someone should make this clearer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smartyshoe (talkcontribs) 12:40, August 26, 2007 (UTC)

Northern terminus

[edit]

Since 2005, the annual NYSDOT Traffic Data Report has omitted the Main Street-Astor Lane portion of the route; however, the terminus was still signed as Astor Lane in 2006[1] and is still given as Astor Lane in the 2007 DOT route log. For this reason, I'm going to use the 2004 report, the last to feature the Main-Astor segment, as the reference for the length, and then note the inconsistency between the TDR and the route log in the history (similar to what is done on I-787). – TMF 03:47, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Formerly used Middle Neck Road to 25A?
