A fact from PSFS Building appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 1 September 2009 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Last February, Keystone18 changed this article's name from "PSFS Building" (this building's original name) to "Loews Philadelphia Hotel" (this building's current name). I'm fearing some editor might come along and question whether this page-move is even necessary to begin with. There wasn't any broad consensus beforehand regarding this.
For the sake of avoiding an edit war, should we stick with "Loews Philadelphia Hotel" or revert back to "PSFS Building"? I'm not even sure about this myself, and I feel like changing it back to "PSFS Building" Jim856796 (talk) 06:53, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did not see updating the name of the building to its current name as a controversial move. Unless I am wrong that its name has changed, the current name, not the previous name, should be used. Here is the official website used, which clearly lists it as: "Loews Philadelphia Hotel" [1] I can, however, find a few notable references to it as "PSFS Building". The official current name of the building is what should be used, so that's the question: What is the official current name? I'll let the revert stand, and await further input on it, because, having now researched it a bit, the answer might not be as clear cut as I first saw it to be.
