Peer review

[edit]

I've listed this article for peer review because...

Thanks, Jw93d59 (talk) 14:19, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, first time reviewing, maybe a more experienced editor can help out too 🙏🏽. I was surprised that the bio does not follow the normal format (born _____, in ____) but I tried finding that information myself and was not able to.
I worry a bit about the verifiability / lack of secondary or tertiary sources. Not sure if anything can be done regarding that... Maybe taking this seriously would mean diminishing the article quite a bit.
I felt certain parts of the article atm sound a bit uncencyclopedic?

He attended university for a year, but stopped attending because he was offered a job.

my suggestion would be "stopped attending due to a job offer" - despite changing little, it reads less like it was a random job offer? I notice this is taken from a podcast, his own words (primary source).

Hayes is interested in cooking and cars. He enjoys spending time in the outdoors.

I tried to find in WP:NOT if it had a section where "Wikipedia is not a personal classified ad page". But yeah, this doesn't seem very encyclopedic to me in tone. Maybe if this was notable information this could be listed differently. "In his personal bio, it is listed that he has an interest in cooking, cars, and spending time in the outdoors"
As I said I am a bit of a newbie to this peer review process, hopefully others can pitch in. I'm just following the instruction: "If you think something is wrong, or could be improved, post a comment on the peer review page." (I think I noted two things that could be improved, right?) I am also willing to do more work reading and could try to comment further. Or could also canvass a few volunteers to get another pair of eyes in this review 🙏🏽 User:Dwarf Kirlston - talk 22:44, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
