Addressing maintenance tags

[edit]

The article is a bit long, but this could be addressed immediately by summarizing or moving the section "Differences in the exotic dance industry". The entire section uses a singe journal article for citations. That article is not really about sexualization, but the differential treatment of women of color in exotic dancing as a form of sex work. The section could be moved to Sex_work#Feminist_debate.

On further consideration, deleted section.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 15:24, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Otherwise, the article could also be split into two, since there are two distinct topics: the sexualization of girls and the sexualization of women of color. WriterArtistDC (talk) 21:21, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted a table of "Reports" at the top of the article with the intention of moving it to "Further reading", but the content was already duplicated there.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 13:25, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Removed "Further reading" items cited in text.--WriterArtistDC (talk) 14:08, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The section pertaining to the sexualization of children reads like an opinion piece, not a scholarly article. Paperboy1973 (talk) 21:16, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sexualisation

[edit]

Would be interested to know the effects on men - socially, physically, psychologically, economically expressing in avenues of politics, art, occupation, behaviour in spheres, morality appropriated by cultures and counties. Noahklein04 (talk) 18:00, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Clunky paragraph

[edit]

‘ Children and adolescents spend more time engaging with media than any other age group. This is a time in their life that they are more susceptible to information that they receive. Children are getting sex education from the media, little kids are exposed to sexualized images and more information than ever before in human history but are not able to process the information, they are not developmentally ready to process it, and this impacts their development and behavior’

This paragraph feels very clunky and unserious: ‘This is a time in their lives’, ‘little kids’ eg Lukamccann (talk) 10:36, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
