[edit]Should we consider a name change, say, to something like "TTC Subway Signals"?Jrargosguy44 (talk) 17:53, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Relevant info on other pages
[edit]The material in Toronto subway and RT#Signal information really belongs here. Maybe also some of the info from 1995 Russell Hill subway incident#Signals.Set theorist (talk) 05:35, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: move the page to Signalling of the Toronto subway at this time, per the discussion below. Dekimasuよ! 18:52, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
Toronto subway signals → Signaling of the Toronto Subway – Mainly to ensure consistency between articles that cover similar topics. For example, the article that talks about the New York Subway signals is titled Signaling of the New York City Subway. Dom497 (talk) 01:46, 30 April 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose – looking at books and n-grams, I see no reason to treat the Toronto subway as a proper name. Dicklyon (talk) 00:29, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Dom497 and Dicklyon: Would "Signaling of the Toronto subway" work? epicgenius (talk) 01:18, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Yah that makes sense.--Dom497 (talk) 01:46, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- It would work, but I don't see the point of the move. The argument was to make it more parallel with the NYC subway, which also has over-capitalization problems (as one can plainly see). I don't really think the "Signalling of X" is a great pattern anyway. What's wrong with how it is now? Dicklyon (talk) 04:13, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Dicklyon: I find "Toronto subway signals" implies that the article focuses strictly on the physical indicators on the track...which it does but shouldn't. With ATC/CBTC being implemented, this article should also focus on the newer technology which doesn't fully rely on physical signals. I believe "Signalling of the Toronto subway" is an improvement for that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dom497 (talk • contribs) 12:14, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

is invoking WP:IDONTLIKEIT. Although the current title is technically correct, it is not the best title for this page that one can think of. As Dom497 said above, "Toronto subway signals" is pretty narrow in scope, since it talks about only the physical equipment. On the other hand, "Signalling of the Toronto subway" talks not just about the actual signals, but also the logistics, technology, and infrastructure behind them. The NYC Subway signals article (regardless of what the capitalization is) is located at that title for that reason. epicgenius (talk) 12:59, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

- Move to Signalling of the Toronto subway per MOS:CANADA. Article title should have 'signalling' spelt with two 'L's, as per the Canadian English convention. R22-3877 (talk) 01:40, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- True...forgot about that...and I'm Canadian.--Dom497 (talk) 01:45, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Support the move (but with two "l"s) It's good to be consistent per WP:TIES. Johnny Au (talk/contributions) 03:07, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
