Using template for Singapore for team sports events
[edit]@LionsX, hi there! Thanks for updating the information as the SEA Games is approaching. I noted for the team sports, you have used the sporting template for Singapore team. While there is no MOS guidelines on using the template for the subject, aka Singapore, in my view, due to the presentation of the flag icon for Singapore, it maybe a bit of excessive use of flag icons. It is simply assumed that since this article is about Singapore at the 2023 SEA Games, the sports people and the national teams are Singaporean (besides, there is a big Singapore flag icon at the infobox already) and repeating use of Singapore flags is slightly excessive.
In comparing to United States at the 2020 Summer Olympics, using Basketball as an example, the summary omits the template but we can include it in the group table. I have no particular preference but believes in consistency. Singapore at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games also adopts the same format so I hope we can have some consistency here. I am fine with either format. Hope to see your input on this. Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 04:18, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
