Note to editors: Spindrift meets the notability criteria for musicians and ensembles on the following counts (quoted directly from Wikipedia guidelines[1]

1. It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.[1] This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, and television documentaries[2] except for the following: Media reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician/ensemble talks about themselves, and advertising for the musician/ensemble. Works comprising merely trivial coverage, such as newspaper articles that simply report performance dates or the publications of contact and booking details in directories. An article in a school or university newspaper (or similar) would generally be considered trivial but should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. (Articles from LA Weekly, Portland mercury and The Delaware news Journal included as references and/or outside links)

4. Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country, reported in reliable sources.[3] (I’m sure someone will add info on this later on)

5. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable). (Vacancy Records releases)

6. Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such. (Four current and/or former members of Brian Jonestown Massacre and one ex-member of The Warlocks)

7. Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability. (New Western Psychedelia, see LA Alternative link)

10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that article.) (Quentin Tarantino film included in stub and includes three references)

Furthermore, please keep in mind that this is a STUB. So long as it is not wrongfully marked for speedy deletion, more editors will add further information, references and citations.
