Engines
[edit]Hi @Redacted II, sorry for bothering you again, I was just a bit confused about the engines on the flight timeline.
The Flight 7 article says "12 out of 13 engines ignited", and the Flight 8 article did too for a while, so why are you changing the Flight 8 article to 8 out of 10 rather than 11 out of 13? I thought both flights tried to light 13 for the boostback? No?
(Sorry if you explained this elsewhere) Canadien1867 (talk) 21:41, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- (I'll change the Flight 7 article).
- So at boostback burn startup, 3 engines are already lit: they've been going since the start of the ascent burn (in fact, they're among the first set of engines to ignite). And then engines ignite in five sets of two, so ten additional engines ignite.
- Thus, eight of ten engines ignite, not eleven out of thirteen. Redacted II (talk) 22:32, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- This matches flight 2, which has "9/10 engines initially relit". Redacted II (talk) 22:34, 10 March 2025 (UTC)
- Got it, thank you! Canadien1867 (talk) 00:45, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
