I see that in the plot, but I do not recall seeing them. I do recall his rant near the end about being too big to ride. I don't know enough to make any changes to this. Carlm0404 (talk) 04:41, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm watching it now, and that's what happens. After he gets the call from the Racing Commission saying he's been reinstated, he becomes even larger. Character name is not indicated in the on-screen credits

It may be noted that, while Mickey Rooney's character name, "Michael Grady", is seen on a plaque hanging on the wall of his room — "MICHAEL GRADY / WINNER / AMERICAN HANDICAP / JANUARY 16, 1960", that character name does not appear in the credits. For the record, below is a reproduction of the cast listing in the closing credits:
