[edit]Cant be first coined in 2019 since a cursory web search finds references from 2018 https://wordwenches.typepad.com/word_wenches/2018/04/the-tiffany-efffect.html which appears to refer not to coining it but to hearing of it from somewhere else. "I discovered a couple of weeks ago when I heard about “The Tiffany Effect.” The Tiffany Effect is the belief that something is more modern than it actually is." dated April 2018 193.62.223.115 (talk) 14:10, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the information. I've updated the article to reflect this. Throughthemind (talk) 17:09, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- you might also want to link CGP Greys The history of Tiffany (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LMr5XTgeyI) since its an in depts research on when the name Tiffany in that form first showed up. Since Theophaniea does not immediately equal tiffany. 77.23.252.200 (talk) 16:03, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Jo Walton coined the term, way before 2018. https://archive.ph/ihWy#selection-669.97-669.112 for an interview she gave in 2008 where she uses the term (though I think she initially coined it a lot earlier, possibly in the 1990s.) 65.128.52.86 (talk) 01:30, 16 March 2025 (UTC)
To whoever removed the example about the hoodys. please put it back. Even just now i once again came across a video talking about how the knickerbrocker Company (now Champion) invented the hoddy in 1938.
