There's definite POV issues in the "whaling vs. whale watching" section of this article, if anyone wants to take it on. Claims need references! (ricjl 19:03, 3 January 2006 (UTC))[reply]

Some specific examples would be good here. Thanks, Pcb21 Pete 11:08, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whale meat

[edit]

Regarding this : However whale meat markets have collapsed and in Japan the government keeps its flow artificially through subsidies and whale meat distribution in schools and other forms of whale meat promotion. In 1997 2,000 tonnes of whale meat were sold for $30m

Seems contradictory, 2000 tons sold for $30 million US is hardly a collapsed market - Any references for this figure? or for that matter, present figures/facts? SammytheSeal 20:55, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The entire "Today" section seems to be ripped from a book or existing website.

Whaling and whale watching

[edit]

The "Whaling and whale watching: Japan" section has an entire paragraph that seems to be translated poorly from another language. It is so full of typos and grammatical errors that it is incomprehensible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.150.123.25 (talk) 17:12, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Regulations / WDCS recommendations?

[edit]

The Regulations / WDCS recommendations section should be clarified and more properly sourced. Also, use of weasel words ('almost all popular (...) regions') should be avoided. WDCS recommendations are not 'rules', and rules aren't WDCS recommendations. WDCS has no authority whatsoever to state rules. "No swimming with dolphins" isn't even a WDCS recommendation for what it's worth. 82.168.48.157 (talk) 13:59, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
