I feel that the present division of the article into sections dealing with (1) single yellow lines and (2) double yellow lines is not very satisfactory, especially when each section contains references more applicable to the other.
I think a better arrangement would be (1) yellow centre-line markings and (2) yellow road-edge markings. -- Picapica (talk) 09:52, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Your claim is correct. This is not complete, and I agree with you. In these area's a yellow line on the side of the road, can be a no standing/unloading rule. And I came here to find out what a dashed line on the curve is, which I believe is no parking, but I didn't get my answer.
- "In many continental European countries like the Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Poland, Slovakia and The Netherlands yellow lines aren't used for regular traffic regulation. However, during roadworks, temporary yellow lines overrule the usual white marking to guide vehicles through the site. In Switzerland, yellow lines are used to delineate special lanes for specific types of vehicles, such as buses, taxis or bikes." 87.208.131.149 (talk) 13:42, 13 January 2025 (UTC)
Shade of yellow
[edit]Would it be appropriate to charactize these markings as generally safety yellow or similar?--Pharos (talk) 17:30, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
