Description of suggested change:
The wording of Template:Di-orphaned non-free use-notice probably needs to be changed to reflect the change in name of its parent template Template:Di-orphaned non-free use. The wording "may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use" isn't really correct because Wikipedia's non-free content use policy and the concept of fair use aren't exactly the same as explained in WP:NFC#Background; Wikipedia's policy is actually more restrictive than fair use. So, it seems more appropriate for the template's text to read as follows: "may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use", "may only be used on Wikipedia in accordance with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy" or something similar.

WP:T5 support should be added to this template per the instructions at Wikipedia:Speedy deletion/Creating a new criterion since {{db-t5-deleted}} exists. I've provided the code for this in TM:db-deleted-multiple/sandbox and have made the same change to the unprotected TM:db-notice-multiple. Nickps (talk) 23:38, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
Adding obscured page link to db-attack-notice
[edit]At this ANI thread we had an issue where TheTechnician27 sent a G10 notice to Trade, who wasn't responsible for the content at issue, and Trade could not figure out what page was being nominated. I understand the logic behind not including the page's title in the warning: Often, G10able pages have titles that would need to be removed or revdelled. However, we do have a way to link to a page without including its title: Special:Redirect. Would there be any objection to, in {{db-attack-notice}}, changing "A page you created" to [[Special:Redirect/page/{{<includeonly>subst:</includeonly>PAGEID:{{{1}}}}}|A page you created]]? This would generate output like A page you created. Note that this link will stop working once the page is deleted, which is a good thing: See Special:Redirect/page/79982707, which uses the former page ID for User:Tamzin/deletion test but no longer works. As far as I can see, the only downside to doing this would be a very slight visibility boost to the CSD'd page, but that page will already be in CAT:CSD and any number of things that mirror it; I think the pros outweigh the cons of giving a link for the notified user to click to see which page is nominated. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 06:21, 16 May 2025 (UTC)
