Protists

[edit]

Please don't make this a "protist" template, as there are too many groups which have not been considered protists for at least 60 years, and others in the 20 years range. Also, this template needs references. --Kleopatra (talk) 15:34, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Bigyra" is paraphyletic

[edit]

The template's use of "Bigyra" is obsolete. Instead we should have

Stramenopiles

  Platysulcidae
  Clade
    Sagenista
    Clade
       Bikosea
       Clade
          Placidozoa (with various Opal... groups)
          Gyrista

I'm not sure how that would work in the template or I'd fix it now. Good luck! Chiswick Chap (talk) 12:53, 20 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bacillariophyceae within itself

[edit]

According to the template, there is a Bacillariophyceae that contains Bacillariophytina which contains another Bacillariophyceae that supposedly is not the other, larger one. This usage may be confusing, and I think this may refer to Bacillariophyceae s. l. and s. s., but I am not sure whether this is the case. Alfa-ketosav (talk) 14:42, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It should be Diatomeae instead of Bacillariophyceae s.l., as per Adl et al. (2019). — Snoteleks (talk) 16:10, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
