When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the film was shot between the lockdowns. Principal photography began from end of February 2021.[8] The entire film was shot in Nepal, in the hills of midwestern Nepal and the capital city of Kathmandu.[9]

Release

[edit]

The film was released in cinemas of Nepal on 26 August 2022.[10] Its Seattle Premiere was held on 17 September 2022 at Carco Theater in Renton.[11] It was also screened at the Beijing International Dance Video Festival in August 2022.[12]

Reception

[edit]

Abhimanyu Dixit of The Kathmandu Post reviewed, "The film feels like a modern-day retelling of the Satyavan-Savitri story from Hindu mythology. In that story, Savitri, a devoted wife, through sheer willpower and devotion, saves her husband from the god of death, Yamaraj. Radha, the character, is also cut from the same cloth."[13]
