Touhou Juuouen ~ Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost (東方獣王園 ~ Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost., lit. "Eastern Beast King Garden") is the 19th official game in the Touhou Project series of danmaku and shoot 'em ups and 33rd game overall. The game was first announced on April 14, 2023, with a demo released on May 7.[1] The game fully released on August 13, 2023.[2][3]
Gameplay
[edit]Similar to earlier iterations in the series, Phantasmagoria of Dim. Dream and Phantasmagoria of Flower View, Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost is a split-screen shoot 'em up where two characters fight simultaneously in a danmaku battle.[4] Players must fire shots at enemies in order to defend themselves. Enemies defeated will appear on the opponents side as bullets for them to dodge. When a player has accumulated enough points in their gauge, they can attack with EX special attacks or boss attacks.[5] Similar to Phantasmagoria of Flower View, the player has a health bar, which in turn allows them to survive multiple hits.
Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost features a story mode, where players must survive a series of six opponents. However, unlike previous Touhou Project games, Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost does not feature an Extra Mode, even after beating the game with a 1CC.

[edit]Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost features the largest roster in the series’ history at 19 characters. Only one character is playable from the start, as the rest are unlocked by beating another character's story mode.

[edit]ZUN developed this game to feel like the previous entries in the series, putting a heavy emphasis on speed and tight dodging.[6]
