Hi there, welcome to my user page. I graduated with the class of 2009 from Glynn Academy High school. I am currently a student at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. While at the university, I will be pursuing a degree in Nursing. I have been involved in many school activities, where I have met and interacted with many socially inclusive types of people. Student council, cheerleading, BETA club, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, and Future Farmers of America are just some of the ways I have contributed to help my school. I was graciously able to receive several awards throughout my time spent in High school, such as: most outstanding senior of the class of 2008-2009, principal’s award, Honor Roll all four years of high school, voted most athletic in cheerleading, top twenty on Homecoming Court, Plum Creek Community Scholarship award, HOPE Scholarship, and Military Officers of America recognition.
I am proud of my life experiences, which have taught me to work with people that are less fortunate than myself. Through these experiences, I have embraced many different cultural backgrounds. I went on a mission trip to Subarana, Honduras. While there I was able to lead a bible study for the children of the town every morning, teaching them about Jesus, love, and compassion. I know that the people in Honduras appreciated the help that we gave them, but helping them also made me appreciate my own life much more. Though they have very little, they are more thankful than you could ever imagine. The positive outlook on life that this town had; has continued to impact the way I live my life. My overall life experiences have helped me to contribute to the diversity of the student body at Georgia Southern University.
I recently joined the Army National Guard in September of 2008. I am a Combat Medic, or better known as a “68- Whiskey”. I choose to join the National Guard because I want to make a difference in the lives of others. I have a strong passion for people and travel. I wish to someday become a missionary doctor and encounter the many different cultures and backgrounds that our world has to offer. If we were all the same, this world would be a monotonous place. Everyone would be alike and there would be no difference between any two people. Being different is what makes each and every one of us unique in our own way. When we all come together, it creates something beautiful. I believe that by becoming a Physician’s Assistant, I will be able to help those who are hurting and apply my skills to serving those who I meet along the way.
