Introduction

[edit]

I feel like I should receive an 85 overall in this class. Regardless of my training articles and how hard the class was for me to try and figure out I still put in the effort and showed up even though my grade kept dropping tremendously. The contributions that I have made, I believe to be significant enough for the article and the amount of research that I have done to get to what I put in the article should speak for itself. user page[1]

Under the Psychological impact section under the childhood trauma article, after the 16th reference I added on and finished the work from "children.. support" This paragraph provides an insight on the impact that children (with/without disabilities) can face due to childhood trauma. It shows the factors tat can severely decrease their mental health. I also added a source as a reference (17).

Under socioeconomic costs I added the last paragraph along with a source to display what additional effects that can play on the word trauma. How poverty and dangerous enviroments can make trauma worse for children especially if they already do not have enough support.

Under the effects on adults section from "Women.. stress" was all my work. I added two sources and in short what I added was a short summary of how different adults can have different experiences to to their trauma. Depending whether if you are a woman, part of the LGBTQ+ community or a minority you can face trauma in many different ways and societal norms affect children and how they deal with their trauma. Some may speak about it if they are brave enough to, others won't.

  • What did you learn from contributing to Wikipedia? What aspects made it meaningful? I learned that it is a long process to edit wikipedia, from first finding relevant information on the topic, and how you make the comments a neutral tone. You have to know what to put out in the world and it can't be something distasteful especially when people look to wikipedia for a quick google search sometimes. I appreciate everyone that contributes to Wikipedia on a regular basis because it is a lot of work and they do it becauswe they care about the information thats being spread.
  • Did editing Wikipedia satisfy the course goals of CCIILinks to an external site.? Explain. I think it did satisfy the goals of linking to external sites because throughout the whole project and citing sources in wikipedia, you did have to either cite or provide a link to an external site. We kept providing links practically the whole semester and thats one thing im never going to forget from this class moving forward.
  • If you could do it over again, would you approach this project differently? I would definitely try to dig deeper and move upstream more because even though I did the AB's and I techinally did upstream the articles and eventually found what I wanted to talk about, I felt like I was just adding on words from the source in a sense and making it more abstract. Since I was already reading off a source it felt like I wasn't really giving my actual thoughts and opinions whichis something I know we cant do but its something I wish I could dig into and find more informaton about. I would use my time more wisely and I don't think I would pick a start class article only because there is a lot information that needs to be added when compared to a completed article on wikipedia. I feel like people may get confused in terms of technicality and they could delete a minor, but still helpful edit.
