I am an emeritus professor briefly described in the page Laurence D. Marks. I have done research in electron microscopy/diffraction, plus a few other areas such as corrosion, nanoparticles, nanotribology, oxide surfaces and triboelectricity. My students and postdocs have written a number of good papers which can be found in my Google Scholar page. I have enough grey hair that I know what is notable versus fake in academia, so sometimes review new pages for academics, and try and improve science pages. I am not a fan of user boxes.😎

Notes on how to gauge h-factors
Nonmetal addition
[edit]Sandboxes
[edit]To do
[edit]- Electron microscope -- start to improve
- Diffraction -- currently locked onto light without enough generalisation. Also needs some more rigor
- Electret -- needs work
- Gold nanoparticles -- add structure (Dh & Ic)
- Surface properties of transition metal oxides -- complete rewrite of structure part
- Disclination add more general info
- Flexoelectricity expand
- Electron scattering needs to be more general
- Tribocorrosion can be easily improved
Adequate, but could tweak
[edit]- Electron crystallography partial rewrite done
- Forward scatter -- rewrote, now adequate
- Surface stress -- needs some images
- Crystal twinning properly connected Dh
- Icosahedral twins
