I don't want to be a member of the Wikipedia (or any other) community

[edit]

I just want Wikipedia articles to be polished, sensible, grammatical, unambiguous, and proofread BEFORE I come to read them. I believe they WILL be, someday, if I continue to vent about them when they aren't. I DO intend to make Wikipedia better--by complaining when it falls short of the mark.2600:1700:6759:B000:E894:BFCC:705D:880 (talk) 04:09, 23 July 2024 (UTC)Christopher Lawrence Simpson[reply]

What does "continued vandalism on radio/tv stations across multiple articles)" mean?

Request reason:

I do not remember reading even one article on a radio or TV station in recent months. So, why am I blocked? And why isn't it explained here on this talk-page? Is my IP address part of a range of IP-addresses blocked in bulk because my internet-service provider is doing something untoward? (That's the only reason I can think of as to why radio/tv" would be mentioned in the reason for blocking me. 2600:1700:6759:B000:E894:BFCC:705D:880 (talk) 14:34, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Christopher Lawrence Simpson[reply]

Decline reason:

I've fixed your request so your statement replaces the words "your reason here" as intended. You are correct; this IP falls within a range blocked to prevent vandalism to Wikipedia. If you were not responsible for any vandalism, please create an account, which the block currently allows. 331dot (talk) 15:05, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contribution(s). However, as a general rule, while user talk pages permit a small degree of generalisation, other talk pages are strictly for discussing improvements to their associated main pages, and many of them have special instructions on the top. They are not a general discussion forum about the article's topic or any other topic. If you have questions or ideas and are not sure where to post them, consider asking at the Teahouse. Thanks. Your message to me reads like it's boilerplate text. What are you objecting to? My remarks are usually targeted very specifically at quoted text, usually a single sentence, that is wrong. I don't know why you'd say I'm trying to discuss things "generally". My last post was pointing out that any assertion that "decimal time" would make things easier relies on an unstated tacit assumption (i.e. a dishonest technique in rhetoric) that Base Ten is the best Base for making things easier. That is in fact very specific to the text I quoted. Of course I post a lot (because I find a lot that is wrong), so maybe you could help me out by telling me WHICH of my talk-page edits offended you, instead of making me guess. While I itemize the specifics, what I'm really intending to do, in many cases, is bash Wikipedia in general for its faults (hoping that maybe someday they'll be rectified, or that someone will read the Talk-Page before taking any Article as Truth, including its lack of imposition of a style-sheet, which I think is something that could be down without any expenditure of human labor, but by a grammatical robot. I frequently don't even bother with thing's such as making plural's with apostrophe's, because there are enough hour's in a day for me to do that.2600:1700:6759:B000:E894:BFCC:705D:880 (talk) 00:43, 9 February 2025 (UTC)Christopher Lawrence Simpson[reply]
