Information icon Hi Akash139! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Alexeyevitch(talk) 21:09, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alexeyevitch, Thank you for your guidance. I am presently updating the pages with awards received by officers of our Regiment who participated in Operation Cactus Lily and Operations Meghdoot. Unfortunately, both were Posthumous awards. Now onwards, I shall stop marking my updates as a "Minor Edit". I shall also be updating related pages later on. In fact, I observe that most Citations on these pages have broken links; I shall in due course correct this as well. Thank you once again for your guidance. Regards, Akash139 Akash139 (talk) 21:32, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Chaotic Enby. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Operation Meghdoot have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Hello Chaotic Enby, Thank you for your message regarding Operation Meghdoot. I am presently updating the page with the award received by an officer of our Regiment who participated in this Operation. Unfortunately, it was a Posthumous awards. I have checked the Wikipedia page for Operation Meghdoot via Google search and find that is has updated correctly. You may review the same. The edit is not in any way with a view to dispute or disrupt the article in question; but to bring to light that the present senario at the Line of Actual Control is inconclusive:
1. The Chinese have intruded into the buffer zone and does not qualify as loss of territory.
2. Both the armies have built up in strength on the Line of Actual Control; and would qualify as an inconclusive confrontation.
3. Intermittent military (Corps commander) & diplomatic talks are held at the convenience of both parties from time to time.
If you do wish to maintain your revert of my edit; then do also highlight Indian territories of Aksai Chin & the Shaksgam tract illegally occupied by China. The area is much larger than 2,000 sq km. However, as far as this article on the 2020-21 China-India skirmishes is concerned the "Result: remains inconclusive."
Have a great day. Akash139 (talk) 04:55, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Basantar

[edit]

Hello, thank you for contributing a lot of content to the Battle of Basantar article... but there are also a lot of errors. Will you please change the first-person wording? An article should never say things like "our troops," because Wikipedia tries to keep a neutral tone, and is ready by people in many different countries.

There are also a lot of spelling and style errors (particularly, inappropriate capital letters). I'm willing to help clean this up, but I would appreciate it if you would make the wording more neutral first. Thank you, Jessicapierce (talk) 20:04, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jessicapierce, Thank you for your message. While keeping neutrality in perspective and as requested, I have replaced all of the word "our" with "the". I have left one "our" in the 9 Engr Regt section as it refers to a war diary entry. I have also applied the word "honour" in preference to the modern equivalent "honor"; and it may be left as such.
I shall read the referred article again for other errors and get back to you. Have a great day. Regards, Akash139 (talk) 07:43, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Have removed all unnecessary Capital letters. There are some abbreviations which can be left as is; for instance, RCL stands for recoilless gun. You could now review the updates with regard to neutrality & correct capitalization of words and confirm.
Do let me know if there is any other corrections required. Thank you, Akash139 (talk) 11:13, 11 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
