Arundel Gate moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Arundel Gate, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DYK for 2022 open letter from Nobel laureates in support of Ukraine

[edit]

On 12 April 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 2022 open letter from Nobel laureates in support of Ukraine, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that more than 200 Nobel Prize laureates have signed a letter against the war in Ukraine? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/2022 open letter from Nobel laureates in support of Ukraine. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 2022 open letter from Nobel laureates in support of Ukraine), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

2022 monkeypox outbreak task force invitation

[edit]

Hello! I know you have an interest in the ongoing 2022 monkeypox outbreak, so I wanted to invite you to the new monkeypox outbreak task force, which I started from the WikiProject of current events. The task force’s goal is to improve any and all articles relating the the new outbreak. I hope you consider joining! Elijahandskip (talk) 06:32, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have added myself! Thanks for the work on expanding the articles, I've had a busy few days so was impressed to see what I came back to. Buttons0603 (talk) 00:03, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrolled

[edit]

Hi Buttons0603, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 07:53, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nice one, cheers! Buttons0603 (talk) 20:25, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Supertram page move reverted

[edit]

Hi! Just a quick note I've reverted your move of Sheffield Supertram - I think there's logic in your reasoning but no-one locally refers to it as 'South Yorkshire Supertram' and WP:COMMONNAME still applies as guidance when there's a geographical disagreement between the common name and the full location, the legal name doesn't automatically take precedence. That being said - I do think there's an argument for it being moved to the location-agnostic 'Stagecoach Supertram', I've started a discussion at Talk:Stagecoach Supertram and would be good to hear your views. Thanks! Mike1901 (talk) 15:55, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That might be a better title, since it is more commonly used than SY Supertram, I was just thinking ahead to 2024 if Stagecoach lose the concession - but I suppose we cross that bridge when we come to it rather than planning for it now. I'll go and leave my views on the talk page. Thanks! Buttons0603 (talk) 16:37, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The article 2022 United Kingdom heat wave has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The United Kingdom heat wave is part of the 2022 European heat waves and does not need a separate page.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Edit warring against talk page consensus

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. OhNoitsJamie Talk 21:26, 2 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors

[edit]

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details. The proposal phase will close no later than December 31st at 23:59 UTC. NoahTalk 03:33, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Overground colours

[edit]

I have updated your London Overground colour estimates with actual values from the latest PDF map. I'm very happy to explain how I did it. 10mmsocket (talk) 12:05, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I just used the colour dropping tool in Paint so I have no doubt that yours are more accurate! Really need TfL to release their updated Colour Document... Buttons0603 (talk) 12:09, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. FWIW, it's really simple. OpenOffice / LibreOffice can edit PDFs. So install the software, open the PDF and click on the appropriate coloured line in the file. Then go to change the colour, click "Custom" and you'll see the hex values right there. 10mmsocket (talk) 12:24, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers, I will bear that in mind in future! Buttons0603 (talk) 12:33, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
