I understand

[edit]

Hi, i'm Συντάκτης, I understand the comment you posted on my talk page. The article I edited that you were talking about Hello was a mistake. I always will take correction no matter who it comes from and I will try to make useful edits in the future on Wikipedia. I hope you can make useful edits too. Συντάκτης (talk) 02:56, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Συντάκτης: I'm afraid I'm sensing otherwise, since two editors have brought up the issue of having an administrator topicon on your userpage, but you've been dismissive both times. It's valuable to take the advice of other editors as you're starting off. ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 04:30, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but i don't understand what your saying. Συντάκτης (talk) 04:33, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Συντάκτης: You added the administrator icon ({{administrator}}) to your userpage, which indicates that you are an administrator (which you are not). Twice you've been informed that you should not do so, but you restored the administrator icon (and dismissed my message to you as not useful). ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 04:37, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Katarzyna Mycka, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:33, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Katarzyna Mycka

[edit]

Hello, Clarinetguy097. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Katarzyna Mycka".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Katarzyna Mycka}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 02:00, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:49, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Use Twinkle!

[edit]

Hi, you can simply tag an article or warn an editor for vandalism using the Twinkle app. You can enable it via "Gadget" menu in Preferences; lots of options to choose from depending on what issue is raised. It'll definitely decrease the burden of doing mundane tasks such as going back and forth the WP:WARNVAND just to paste those templates in an uncooperative editor's talk page. Give it a shot! :) Bluesphere 11:33, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your question about private

[edit]

What I meant with private is that some sayings or writings are completely for the responsibility of the "auctor". And sometimes he/she is not able to "explain any further".

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Alex Morgan does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Keeping the Fnords!

[edit]

Hi Clarinetguy097, I've been editing to keep the fnords on that page because fnords need to be contained and that page is the best place to do it. By eliminating fnords you may be inadvertently (or intentionally) releasing them into the wild, where they can do real harm. How long have you been a member of the illuminati? Pauljbenedict (talk) 18:29, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This, plus your comments on Talk:Fnord, makes me think you're not being serious. Your fnord joke is getting old, so it's really time to back off. (P.S. I don't have political control over enough land to join the Illuminati, but if it counts for anything, I've been told I'm a "smart-looking person" several times.) Clarinetguy097 (talk) 23:01, 16 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm definitely kidding. :) I appreciate your efforts to keep Wikipedia clear of noise, but having random fnords on that page is what a fnord is. So, for a reader, it's the experience of "discovering" a fnord mixed in with regular text. I feel that having examples of the phenomena on that page illustrate what the page is there to describe, and so is appropriate text. Back off on the Fnords? Never :) Take it easy! Pauljbenedict (talk) 15:40, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, this is a deadly serious website. I was about to look up some policies to explain why you were wrong, but it suddenly occurred to me that if they don't want fnords here, then what if adding fnords here is doing harm and is tanamount to releasing them into the wild? Maybe we could better contain them on wiki sites that don't take themselves so seriously. (Like you said, I am just a passenger, so sorry if that was just a load of bulldada.) Clarinetguy097 (talk) 16:51, 17 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Clarinetguy097, I noticed you issued a SYNTH challenge to a sentence or two on the Fnord page. This was a new concept for me, so I read through the definition of SYNTH, and ask that you consider SYNTH is not obvious and review all the references made in that paragraph, as these are not my conclusions, they are deeply supported by the history of the matter. Especially review this reference Download The True Story of the Internet - Browser Wars which clearly lays out the history of Microsoft's monopolistic efforts to dominate the fledgling internet through suppressing open source software and illegally acting against a direct competitor in Netscape Navigator. My assertion in this paragraph is that the free and open-source Fnord! web server was affected by the same monopolistic atmosphere that sealed the fate of Netscape Navigator.
