Proposed deletion of Contextual AI
[edit]
The article Contextual AI has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Heavily promotional (account name doesn't do any favours either), also most sources are from blogs or low-quality journalism sites.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. GarethBaloney 20:00, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for your review. I respectfully object to the deletion of this article based on the following points:
- Regarding Source Quality: The concern about "blogs or low-quality journalism sites" appears to be inaccurate. This article primarily uses high-quality, established sources that meet Wikipedia's reliability standards, including:
- · Forbes, TechCrunch, VentureBeat, Reuters, Associated Press
- · Industry publications: NVIDIA, SiliconANGLE, Silicon Republic
- · Academic sources: arXiv preprint
- · Corporate sources: Meta
- I specifically removed Medium articles and other self-published sources during editing to ensure compliance with Wikipedia's source quality guidelines.
- Regarding Promotional Tone: I acknowledge the concern about promotional language and am committed to revising any sections that may appear non-neutral. The article focuses on factual information about the company's founding, funding rounds, and technological contributions, sourced from independent third-party coverage.
- Regarding Notability: Contextual AI meets Wikipedia's notability criteria through:
- · Significant coverage in major tech publications
- · $80M+ in funding from notable investors
- · Founders' role in developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology
- · Coverage by established financial and technology news outlets
- Regarding Conflict of Interest: I am not affiliated with Contextual AI, nor do I work for the company or its founders. My motivation for creating this article is to document the notable contributions of the company's founders, who were key figures in developing RAG technology—a method now widely adopted in the AI industry.
- As an editor who contributes to AI-related topics, I have made every effort to ensure the article is written in a neutral, encyclopedic tone. I am prepared to continue improving the article's neutrality and welcome specific suggestions for enhancement. Conscious AI-ML (talk) 12:40, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- You say that but appear to have only contributed to Contextual AI and Dask (software). Some of it does feel like it was written by AI although I know how unreliable GPTZero is so for now all I have is a hunch. Maybe making a user page can help with future editors not discrediting your work by proving you are a real person, although this is just my opinion. GarethBaloney 13:43, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback! No, the content wasn’t written by AI chatbot. I tried to follow the style and format of similar technology company pages like Scale AI, Mistral AI, and Cohere - focusing on when the company was founded, what it does, who founded it, and what technology it provides, all in a neutral tone and without promotional language.
- Today, I also added references to academic papers on RAG technology, which is really shaping the AI field right now. I went through the article to make sure it lines up with Wikipedia’s sourcing standards and tone guidelines. If you look at the pages of Cohere and Scale AI, you’ll see they’re also supported by articles from reputable platforms like TechCrunch, VentureBeat, Forbes, and Fast Company. A lot of the articles backing up this draft are written by the same journalists who cover Contextual AI and RAG technology.
- I also contribute to AI topics from another account, so I’m very familiar with Wikipedia’s guidelines and requirements. I’ll keep working on improving the article over time and adding more solid sources as they come out. Conscious AI-ML (talk) 14:19, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
