Dunedin, FL

[edit]

I represent the Dunedin History Museum and the city historian. The reference link(s) to the first land grant and the incorporation of the city is from an old incorrect city of Dunedin page. The dates 1852 and 1925 are incorrect for the first land grant and the founding of the city.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.96.115.241 (talkcontribs) 15:10 4 August 2021 (UTC)

In fact that editor has repeatedly refused to advise me of what the problem is. I'm surprised to hear that editor is an experienced editor as I had not seen need to check. Right off attempting to inject FRINGE political bias and going on to repeatedly demand I debate positions I don't hold is strange for an experienced editor. I have said several times that we can remove and change any parts of my added text and asked how he wants to do that: He still refuses to reply instead insisting on these debates. Invitation to participate in a research

[edit]

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

This isn't evidence. But I see this kind of stuff more often. Many are much much better at it. And this is merely one CT area. Folks are creating these EC accounts and sitting on some of them. (I have no way of knowing, but they are worth money to someone.) They're literally doing nothing wrong. Until they are. Don't we know somebody who does the math on new accounts and ECs? Stump harvesting deletion

[edit]

Re: your message re your deletion of my inserted text in 'Stump Harvesting' I don't know anything about harvesting stumps, Donald, I don't have any citation for whatever it was I put in and you took out and I have no time to look for one. But I'm not as sure as you are that it needs citing. I merely added something to the article that I had happened to see in another Wikipedia article on the same or similar topic just before I read the 'Stump Harvesting' article. That other article, the title of which I have forgotten, was apparently authoritative enough to be left undisturbed and undeleted by any eagle-eyed monitor like yourself. If you look at whatever you deleted and you know how to find it, you will be able to discover my source somewhere else in Wikipedia. When you find that article, you should doubtless give it the same careful scrutiny you have just shown on 'Stump Harvesting'. If it passes muster, and if you think more info is better than less, you might want to re-stick it wherever I stuck it in 'Stump Harvesting'. Doubtless there is some way to assure a reader that some blob of info has been accepted and embraced elsewhere in Wikipedia, but I don't know what it is and despair of ever being able to master the complex web of arcana that enables 'anyone' to edit Wikipedia. So, duly chastened and abashed, and now certain I should limit my Wikipedia efforts to just humbly fixing grammar and spelling, I am, Yours truly, Bob Projansky 97.120.20.119 (talk) 02:35, 10 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The policy at WP:Verifiability requires that all content in Wikipedia article be verifiable, and for certain cases, including when the content has been challenged, content must be supported by an in-line citation to a reliable source. It doesn't matter what you may have seen in another article. Wikipedia is a user-generated source, and is therefore not a reliable source and cannot be used in citations in Wikipedia. Reminder to participate in Wikipedia research

[edit]

Hello,

I recently invited you to take a survey about administration on Wikipedia. If you haven’t yet had a chance, there is still time to participate– we’d truly appreciate your feedback. The survey is anonymous and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement.

Take the survey here.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team
