Welcome!
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless that text is available under a suitable free license. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

- Dear Diannaa,
- Thanks for the info, nonetheless, I am basically the author of the content at etaps.org (as you can see in the footer of the website), which I have copied to the wikipedia page, so I have hoped it is OK. If the preferred style of Wikipedia, however, is rather to reference the pages than to copy the content, I am fine with that, indeed :-).
- Thanks a lot, best regards,
- Jan Kofroň

- Thank you for your interest in working on Wikipedia. There are a couple of problems with your submission. You cannot post copyright material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder or have their permission, unless special documentation is in place. That is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, and all content must have the appropriate documentation in place before that can happen. Please see Wikipedia:donating copyrighted materials which explains how it works.The second problem is conflict of interest. Writing an article about your own organisation or that of a client is strongly discouraged, as it is difficult to maintain the required neutral point of view. According to our terms of use, paid editors and people editing on behalf of their employer are required to disclose their conflict of interest by posting a notice on their user page or talk page. I have placed some information about conflict of interest below. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 01:04, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit] Hello, Jankofron. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 01:04, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
- Dear Diannaa,
- Thanks for the info. Indeed, according to the definition, I have a conflict of interest here. I just want to bring the page up-to-date, and add some general info about the conference (they do not pay me, I do everything for free as a volunteer). I fully understand the existence of conflict-of-interest guidelines. I will propose changes using the talk pages, then.
- Thanks once more for your time and help!
