[edit]@Jwy Hi, I use the Kingdom of Italy as the link in the infoboxes because it would be inaccurate to label it as Fascist Italy. Fascist Italy was not a seperate state from the Kingdom of Italy, and was used only as a common term. Fascist Italy was still the Kingdom of Italy, the original Italian state, despite under Fascist regime. It is noteworthy that Italian generals in World War II swore an allegiance for the Kingdom of Italy, the Italian state and not Fascist Italy, a regime. Jheeeeeeteegh (talk) 04:43, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Jheeeeeeteegh I think it should be discussed on the help page. The nuances of the Italian political history are a mystery to me as is the policy and/or consensus of what should go into the infobox. I reverted to what appeared to be the consensus of several years. My understanding is that Mussolini, not the Kingdom, was the main active driving force in the actions in North Africa and the best article to describe this would be the Fascist Italy article. The infobox only shows "Italy" --John (User:Jwy/talk) 04:52, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- The belligerent was the Kingdom of Italy, it was the state that the Allies are engaging it same as Nazi Germany, a German state. Fascist Italy only describe a regime that controlled the Italian government and not a seperate state and only used as a common term. Although the monarchy still holds the overall power to the state. If you want further discussion, please go to the Tunisian campaign's talk page. Thank you. Jheeeeeeteegh (talk) 05:29, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
- The two of us discussing it won't be very useful. It should be a topic on either Talk:Tunisian Campaign or Template talk:Infobox military conflict --John (User:Jwy/talk) 16:13, 3 March 2025 (UTC)
